"James "Jim" Clifford Rauch Jr. of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on October 23, 2024, at the age of 77. Jim was born on July 8, 1947, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late James Rauch Sr. and Shirley Harris (nee Rulison).
Throughout his life, Jim dedicated himself to the field of education, earning a Master's Degree and working as a music teacher in the West Clermont School District. His passion for music touched the lives of countless students, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of learning from him.
Jim was a brilliant pianist who performed throughout the Cincinnati area for many years. He and his former wife, Carol, were leaders of a very popular local pop band, Just in Time, during the 1970's-1990's. Jim was also the founder and director of the handbell choir at Milford United Methodist Church where he was also the lead organist. He shared his love of music with his children and his former wife who were all inspired in their own ways to ensure that music remains a part of their lives.
Jim will be fondly remembered as a proud father and grandfather, a lover of gourmet food and cooking, an early adopter of any new technology and an avid movie fan. He was a lifelong resident of Cincinnati who supported the arts, sports, culture and cuisine of the area in many ways over the years. Whether discussing his upbringing in Madisonville, his graduation from Withrow High School, his love of the Reds and Bengals or his fondness for things like Montgomery Inn or Skyline, his pride in Queen City was evident throughout his life.
In spite of living for many years with health struggles due to diabetes and kidney disease, Jim was comforted by the companionship of his loving dog, Stoney as well as his loyal circle of friends and family who cared for him up until his final days.
Jim will be deeply missed by his daughters, Heidi (Brian) Morrissey and Heather DeLisle, daughter-in-law, Nicolle Rauch, grandchildren, Ellie, Kevin, Megan, Molly, Trevor, Caleb, McKenna, Aspen, Cruz, Ezra, Jakob, and Emma; sisters, Connie (Bill) Marsh and Julie Martin. Jim will also be missed by his former wife and friend, Carol Rauch (nee Detwiler).
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his dear son, Fred Rauch.
Services for Jim will be held privately at the convenience of the family."
