IMO two things can be true

1. Being a content creator of any kind inevitably opens you up to criticism and bullshit. It’s part of the undertaking and you should expect it.

2. Reborne has done a lot and released a shitload of content and is free to quit, release stuff, horde stuff, whatever he wants. If releasing stuff or streaming impacts him negatively he def should quit as it’s not worth it.

I have a semi-successful podcast that, while it isn’t my primary source of income, at one point between ads and my patreon I was matching what I was making with my salaried day job. I ended up shuttering the patreon and ditching a weekly schedule bc the obligation, amount of feedback etc was just not worth it for me personally. Now, that’s my flaw not the audiences though. I’m just not wired for it. It is what it is. So I understand where Reborne is coming from but I also learned the hard way the best exit is an Irish good bye where you just dip and fade away. A big “fuck you I’m out” just feeds the people who already don’t like you or are on the verge of being over your shit

ETA: MOAB has verbally put me through a table when he felt it was warranted. He’s a crank and drops sopranos videos etc but I always felt it was somewhat tongue in cheek. Even if it isn’t he’s not so bad. Some folks are just sensitive, myself included, but that means to stay in your lane don’t try to change the flow of traffic to suit you and you alone

Yeah once you realize that he's always on the warpath it becomes a lot easier to not take it personally.

Yeah I don’t get it either. It’s like as time goes on the catfish stop listening to the 90% of people who like what they are getting and start obsessing over the 10% who are being critical. Then they take their ball and go home. I totally get becoming sick of the editing, enhancing, and live streaming. So when you’re done with that, why not just dump it? And the only thing I can think of is that having this stuff in their vault gives them a sense of power or something. Like once it’s all out there, they will lose their sense of self importance or something along those lines. When you’re talking Ember and RB, you’re talking years of archival recordings. I have to think what’s been put out there is just the tip of the iceberg. And eventually all of that stuff just goes poof and years of work are gone.

But at the end of the day this is a troll community. It can be ruthless for sure so expecting anything less is setting yourself up for disappointment.
