Yes, but TCAP was on the downhill slope. I believe it was starting to get old to the mass public. Newswatchers were already waiting for different kinds of the next 'Keep your kids safe' specials.

They only got 7 preds in Kentucky despite chatting online for at least a month. It probably would've had one more episode before cancellation if it wasn't for the suicide.

It was due a rest, as said above it become too big a thing for 99% of predators to risk it.

It is due a revival, Hansen though unfortunately being a conman and well-known fuck-up means that it probably won't hit the same levels of popularity again if he has any hand in it. It needs a reboot with a new host (though someone as well-suited as Chris was will be hard to find admittedly). Even if they could get the right guy, the tone would have to be drastically different due to woke culture. No more reading out the most cringe-worthy lines of the chatlogs, there'd be a nonsense hysteria about humiliating the predators unnecessarily. They likely wouldn't give you much backstory either.

Just be grateful for what we have, it was a glorious thing that came and went but was so fantastic it's spirit lives on through us, the dedicated fanbase. Just don't send Hansen your money or fall for his promises of more investigations.

TCAP was taking a lot of heat from non-NBC media as it progressed, with a focus on PJ - which was imploding. Also, I believe NBC had an issue with being able to find corporations that wanted to pay to advertise during such a show. I think TCAP may have been cut loose after a few more episodes during the 2007/2008 television season.

Woke culture wouldn't allow this show to happen. You already have college professors defending these fuckers as "Minor Attracted Persons". It would probably have high ratings and then cancelled by culture, like Live PD.

This has been said on here time and again but I’ll go ahead and say it again. PeeJ/Dateline didn’t have any trouble catching preds, even as late as the Bowling Green sting. The reason why there were only 7 preds caught in the BG sting was because the BG sting was only 1 part of a 4 part sting run by Kentucky Bureau of Investigation. KBI contacted PeeJ, PeeJ set up stings for KBI in 4 counties over 1 month. KBI worked with local cops in each of the 4 counties. PeeJ pitched the KBI sting to Dateline but Dateline didn’t want to be involved in the whole thing. Maybe they didn’t want to have to wire up 4 different houses or didn’t want to have to move Hansen&crew around 4 times or maybe they didnt want to because of all the heat they’d been getting from their rival networks but for whatever reason, Dateline only agreed to come in on the final part of the KBI sting, the part that was in Bowling Green, (though NBC did send a camera crew along on the Highland Heights part of the sting and some of that footage was aired during the BG episode). They only brought in 7 Preds in BG, but they nabbed almost 30 in the entire 4 county sting. TCAP could have gone on indefinitely, they could have kept on bringing in Preds for as long as they cared to. NBC just didn’t want to do it anymore, simple as that. Not being able to bring the Preds in like they used to was just a convenient excuse that CH liked to use to avoid having to discuss the many and complicated reasons why NBC soured on TCAP.
