I didn't mean that he knew what he was choosing in any conscious way. In no way did he think he was going to get caught. It's the same reason that the death penalty isn't a deterrent. Nobody commits a crime thinking they're going to get caught, that's the point of committing a crime - to get away with it.
That was said in a more comedic sense of the options which Lorne had no idea that he was choosing between. I also think he did more than 5 years, I could be mistaken though.
Lorne was released on November 6, 2012 and was detained on October 18th, 2007
He did mention that he could go the jail like 11 times in the chat and cops and police once each. It looks like the only way Lorne believed he would have been caught was by the parents finding the chat or seeing the webcam or the Yahoo Police tracking their conversation, I think he says as much as telling her to download MySpace IM to talk there because police can't track you there?
