There is one thing that comes up consistently whenever food comes up in the chat that I find completely cringe worthy which I've never seen mentioned. Lorne will always, without fail, either ask for a bite or offer a bite. Maybe it's just me, but I find this extremely uncomfortable.

Has this ever been discussed from a psychological point of view? There is something going on in the world of Lorne that links food to something else. Perhaps he just thinks this sort of thing is cute or funny and that's that (and a pathology in itself).

Part of me thinks that he is attempting to make Kayla feel uncomfortable. He also eats and balogna sandwich while on the phone, which as funny as it is, even Lorne must realize this is extremely rude.

So this part, I believe he's speaking in "code" or at least trying to interject sex talk into a non-sexual conversation as a joke. For the last 30 days or so, he assumes she's listening to him when he tells her to delete her IM history. On the final days before meeting, he's probably trying to keep chatting sexually without incriminating himself. Lorne wavers from being worried and not worried about Yahoo catching him talking to kids throughout the chat, I see this as in case he gets caught, the chat wouldn't be explicit.

It's object association with Lorne. Food is something that you put in your mouth. Lorne's penis can go into a mouth. This excites him. What guy doesn't look at his wife or his girlfriend eating a banana or a popsicle and smile a little bit. The other thing is that Lorne may have been hungry as fuck. Living on a limited budget kind of curtails your food choices. I'm surprised he didn't buy a 24 pack of Ramen for a couple of bucks. I've heard of POW's getting the shit kicked out of them by other POW's because they started talking out loud about the thing that was on everyone's mind. Food. Lorne couldn't control his desire to talk about food any more than he could control his desire to talk about sex.

Lorne tried to turn everything into something sexual with Kayla. The food talk was just another attempt to get the conversation steered in that direction.

As for the rudeness, Lorne didn't care. In his mind,the world revolves around Lorne. He did something similar on one of the early Ember calls. The morning after the bird lady call, she calls him up to talk about his inappropriate behavior the night before. Lorne decided it was the perfect time to sort through his junk mail instead.

In fairness, I have had chats about food with women. Of course it was not sexual in nature, just talk of similar things we like or maybe sending a picture of the meal I cooked.I could never fathom saying "Are you anxious to eat my hot dog".

I think it's just awkward, infantile flirting. Food sharing is one of the first things a couple does, so it's Lorne's way of making early inroads, but it's interesting to note just how childlike he really is. I've said this before, but I don't think he's capable of talking to females normally. It's either 5th-grade seduction techniques or 1st-grade temper tantrums coupled with verbal abuse.

This is how I took it; at least with the ice cream and the french toast. Those are sweets and more conducive to sharing. What loses me is that he does it basically every time, even when talking about a bologna sandwich. No matter how you slice the bologna, there's nothing cute or romantic about taking a bite of someone's sandwich.

It's just a part of the, extremely weird, chat log that I find a little bit more puzzling than a lot of it.

When I was in 5th grade, there was a cute girl in our class named Lea, and one day the boy seated next to her accidentally took a sip from her water bottle. And since Lorne's mind works like an 11-year-old boy, this is why he gets so turned on by "sharing germs" with Kayla.

Lorne takes many every day, insignificant things that most people wouldn't closely associate with sexuality, and really plays it up in his mind into something highly arousing. I don't think Lorne has any boundaries when it comes relationships and especially things like eating. What's his is his and what's yours is his. I do all the cooking around my house and it's ok as because we're eating the same thing. But when we go out to eat and order different items it never fails that she will exclaim "Oooh! Let me try that!" and just stabs something off my plate with her fork and noshes on it. I see Lorne doing the same thing. Only he wouldn't give a girl a warning and would just start munching on her food. Some people think they are being cute and somehow bonding with their partner. I find it irritating and an invasion of my bubble.
