So I'm sure everyone has known for sometime now that Vincent Ambrosio won his parole hearing and is no longer incarcerated. I do not know exactly how much of his sentence he served behind bars, but he definitely got out of jail quicker than he was supposed to be in for. Who are some of the other predators we know that got out of jail early, and what were the reasons why they got out of jail so soon?

Something interesting I found about a predator who potentially got out of jail early was David Quist from the Highland Heights, KY sting (same one involving Rauch). This is what I found online when I googled about his sentence

So according to this he was sentenced to 10 years in prison serving a minimum of 80 percent of time sentenced, beginning May 2008. Yet it looks like he was paroled in December 2010 and in December 2017 his supervised parole ended, meaning he is only on probation now. So is he another one on the list of predators that got out of jail early? And why do you suppose the reason is that a man who was sentenced to 10 years in prison after losing his trial was paroled after only two years? Change in state law or corrupt legal system?

There are a couple of factors. First, in the US jails are overcrowded, you've got 4 people in what used to be a 2 person jail cell. Shorter sentences mean that spaces open up for more prisoners more quickly. People get released for good behavior. If you are in jail and you follow the rules and don't cause any issues for anyone, they will let you out a little early as a "thank you". Finally, there is time served. If you sit in jail for 18 months while your case winds its way through the courts, when you get sentenced, often a judge will give a convict credit for the time he or she already served. So if you are sentenced to 24 months, you can be out in as few as 6 sin you've already served 18 months.

These are all good opinions and answers. So far it seems that the consensus is good behavior is why most of the predators got time reduced from their sentences. However I don't believe good behavior is the sole reason why David Quist in particular got out early. David Quist lost his trial, and part of the terms of his sentence was he was supposed to serve a minimum of 80 percent of his 10 year sentence. Seems fair enough, he gambled by asking for a trial by jury of peers and that gamble did not pay off. How come he was locked up for only two years (20 percent of the 80 percent he was supposed to serve)? And before someone suggests an appeal, the original appeal his attorney submitted is published online and was rejected. Is a change in Kentucky state law a possibility?

Also heres a list of who we know got out early. if we find out more predators who got off early ill add them to this list

I think they have it the wrong way around.

It should be an increase in sentence for bad behaviour. Not a decrease for good behaviour.

I added Stephen Buchanan to the list. I was snooping through some old threads and saw a few different posts where people mention Buchanan getting out on parole after just a year in jail. I looked on the CT state registry to confirm and I saw the date convicted (June, 2016) but no mention of getting out. However it said he was compliant with the registry and he last self verified January 18th, 2018. So that to me is proof he did get granted parole, so I'll take everyone's word on it. So while he was sentenced to serve a minimum of three years, he ended up only serving 30 percent or so of his sentence. I'd say he got off real easy, considering how up front he was in his chat log.

any other guys come to mind? half my list is HVP, and the other two are TCaP related and both involved the Kentucky episode. Did none of the guys who got time in places with harsher sentences (Georgia, Florida, Virginia) get off early?
