Been reading a lot about Rage, seems it can be addicting and quite a lot of fun for those who enjoy it.
The adrenaline rush and single-minded focus (i.e. forgetting about everything else) releases a large amount of endorphins and the come-down from the adrenaline rush can be enjoyable for some.
I believe Lorne Loves to Rage, he actually really, truly enjoys it.
Thoughts?
He is absolutely addicted to rage. He gets off on it.
I think his rages are a regular occurrence in his life, and every time he rages, he gets a massive high. Normal people, after becoming enraged, are usually exhausted and need some time to themselves to recuperate and regroup. And they feel shame for being driven to that point. But not Lorne, it fuels him even more and he doesn't see anything wrong with it.
I don't think his phone girlfriends are the only ones he rages at and abuses. I think he rages at his family, and anytime he does, I think they almost always back down and comply with whatever he's raging about and demanding. They probably do and say anything they can to get him to stop. It's probably one of the reasons why his family members distance themselves from him and why none of them want to be around him. I wouldn't be one bit surprised to find out that those who are forced to deal with him, walk on eggshells around him, they agree with him and they cater to him, and do anything to ward off his evil tantrums.
That could very well be the reason his mother and her siblings (Sharon, Clayt, etc), pander to him so much, they want to avoid his abuse, every way they can. Sharon and Clayt might give in to save their sister from being abused by that monster she birthed. It could also be one of the reasons, his mother doesn't like him. She knows any minute, he will turn on a dime and start raging, so she avoids it anyway she can. I think that's one of the reasons why, during the Rawd call, he was so out of control, and why he was enraged to the point that his voice was shaking. He's so used to whoever he's abusing, backing down, and trying to reason with him, when Jamie Robot refused to give in, and refused to comply, he was absolutely outraged and lost control, because, in his sick little world, anytime he starts screaming, people are supposed to give in, and when they give in, he's in control and he enjoys the rage even more.
TL;dr Lorne gets off on rage, far more than he gets off when he orgasms.
