I've listened to DMac and Green. And LOL at your nitpicking at my comment, yet in your next breath agree that he really isn't adding much in terms of things we didn't already know. 'Once he gets more guests of note it'll be better'
And once I buy a Ferrari I'll be happy, but we can file both of those things under the category of 'things that'll never happen.'
The reality is that most 'guests of note' (presumably predators) either can't or won't discuss their segments.
In the end, Tixx posed a question which was, in essence, 'how much value do these episodes add to TCAP Fandom?' and my response was 'not much' and proceeded to explain why. If I'm missing something, please do fill me in.
Interesting guests would include behind the scenes staff, relatives and friends of Predators, PJ members and perhaps members of the police who were involved in the stings. Predators would be great of course but it isn’t as likely that they would agree to appear.
My comment in relation to him not being able to add much to our knowledge of the show wasn’t meant in a derogatory way. It is almost to be expected at this stage as the show has been discussed to death, he has discussed it to death and we’ve had countless interviews, articles, Reddit AMAs and even a book over the years. It is pretty obvious that there is a limit to how much new information we’ll ever learn from stings that took place 15 years ago.
My original point still stands that the podcast does more to keep things fresh and relevant than all the Lorne calls, soundboard pranks, memes and a lot of other stuff that the community itself is able to put together. I think some people have an unrealistic expectation of what these podcasts should be and that is more the issue than the podcasts themselves, imho.
