Hello, everyone. I'll try to make this as tactful as possible. When the Jorrun scandal broke, I became aware of it a few months after the fact. I watched a few videos and saw the screenshots in the GDrive. I, like everyone else, was obviously traumatized by the graphic images he sent (not even kidding—it was gross). Recently I've been digging deeper though. Luckily, there's a YT channel (Alpha Derek something) who graciously posted the catfish screenshots while censoring the horrifying images that I've tried to black out of my mind's eye.
But I wanted to open up the discussion on everyone's thoughts on a few things. This topic hasn't been brought up this year as far as I can tell. Certainly, Jorrun wasn't a great guy. I don't know if he was actually a child predator, but his actions upon joining the "TCAP community" were, well, just odd. Not sure who would try to pick up women or groupies in a TCAP Discord. And the Alpha talk is also quite bizarre. (I recall him telling Wes that basement dwellers were behind the catfish b/c they were angry at his Alpha/Beta discussions. There was also a message he sent to someone where he said the catfish was, again, a basement dweller who was jealous that he was collabing/friends with well-known members of the community and was well liked and funny. Those were his words.)
So I want to make it clear that I think Jorrun needed to pack his bags. Sticking around was never an option. Bizarre that he thought he could stay. Just the way he talked about women during his comedy routines was enough for me. (I also think his comedy troupe partner was playing a role when he supposedly broke up with Jorrun. No idea if Jorrun was in on it, but the partner clearly knew how Jorrun talked about women and his outrage was obviously forced, at least IMO.)
Now, a few thoughts/questions:
1. Any idea who the catfish was? In the first screenshot, you can see that they not only DM'd Jorrun, but they also DM'd Wes "introducing themselves," even though this catfish was clearly a well-known member who already would've known Wes. The entire catfish concept was likely a group effort, but I'm thinking the person actually typing was either Wes or Tiffany.
2. When Wes called Jorrun, they made it seem like Wes was being genuine in the first 3 calls and only started trolling at calls 4 and 5. But it's obvious he was trolling from the start. Not just because he was recording every call, but because you can tell he is intentionally asking Jorrun irrelevant questions to try to get him to elicit some cringey response. He even pretended to get a Skype call from someone who was asking about Jorrun, while Jorrun eavesdropped, and of course Jorrun had no clue it was staged.
3. When they decided to catfish Jorrun, why did they immediately start by sending a nude pic? The proper procedure for exposing him would've been to engage like a decoy would, and let Jorrun show his true colors as the convo evolved. Yes, the point was to further expose him as someone who was sexualizing female TCAPers, but why not let the inevitable happen organically with Jorrun as the initiator? By immediately making it sexual from "her" end, it gave Jorrun the green light to respond similarly. Wes even gave him shit about sexualizing the catfish despite the fact that the catfish initiated it.
4. I wonder how genuine Jorrun was in his self-reflection or if it was more about him placating Wes in a failed attempt to remain a part of the group. It's quite obvious that Jorrun is anything but alpha (ugh), at least according to the traditional definition, and he is in fact someone who is easily influenced by others in an attempt to blend in with the crowd. What he did was gross, but you could tell he kept making concessions due to Wes' persistence, kind of like how a detective can pretty much get anyone to admit to anything regardless of its accuracy.
5. In the end, it felt like nearly everyone came out of this thing appearing more childish and immature (except for MiniSyllables who gave a great interview—and maybe also Clobber just because he seems like a good dude no matter what he does or says). They essentially decided that Jorrun was the new Lorne and that they were going to place him in the exact same box and troll him in the same manner. The end goal the entire time was humiliation and entertainment. Why not ban the guy, tell him to never contact them, and move on? Or at least just let the Mini interview speak for itself?
I'm starting to get the feeling that drama follows a few of these content creators wherever they go. There's always something crazy happening. It doesn't help that someone like Wes is now working with the biggest non-predatory shitbag we know in Chris Hansen. The dude screwed over and stole from creditors, small businesses, TCAP content creators, and most importantly from small donors not only with the GoFundMe, but again with his scam HVP.com website subscriptions. What's the point of helping out a guy who has screwed over so many in THIS community? He's actually doing a lot of Chris' work for him, which only helps to enable a certified grifter like Hansen who is using TCAP's cult status (and the issue of child exploitation) for his own personal financial gain, with no goal of actually making a difference. If you go through Reddit or YT, most people (new or casual followers) still think Chris is a heroic figure because all they see is his current channel.
