Wow! I actually was at the same GnR show that Sokol was at. Wasn't a big fan but I went to a Red Sox game that year and entered a raffle at the old Tower Records on the corner of Boylston and Newbury and won. I think I was going into 6th grade so it was a big deal to go to a show with one of my friends vs adults. They actually sucked pretty bad but IIRC (and I could be wrong) Aerosmith was the headliner.

I'm firming of the believe that the predators should never be able to fully escape from what they have done. I don't think they should be executed or locked up for life but people should always know what they did or try to do so I'm glad he couldn't change his name. Ultimately they wanted to molest a child which probably would have affected that child for life so an equivalent lifelong kind of punishment is well deserved.

I like that he petitioned the judge to keep everything private for these proceedings and that the reason he wanted to change his name was for safety and to move on.

Both were denied. Sweet justice for an arrogant mouthy "not that big" prick.

Totally right decision to deny the change of name. Sokol gave up part of his liberty when he sent smut to a 13 year old girl and talked about marrying her. People should be able to find this information about him as he has demonstrated he is willing to abuse an underage girl.

If it wasn't a sting, and Jeff had ended up marrying "Bailey", would he be talking about what a huge mistake he made? I doubt it. He's just backtracking now because he got caught.
