I’ve been enjoying the fact that the YouTube community and public in general are finally getting tired of Hansen’s shit and realizing that he is a serial conman and liar. Many people are catching onto his patterns of lying and false promises, and waking up to the fact that he is not some white knight moral figure who actually cares about victims of abuse. On the contrary, he is a very egotistical man who only seems to care about the appearance of success and monetary gain. I recently watched another YouTube expose video that dived deep into his career as a whole, and really showed you all along that Chris was willing to do anything for ratings and TV success. I think ultimately that’s what drove him to take things too far with Conradt, and was his downfall. Chris became too arrogant and thought he was untouchable.
All that to say, your average person would have been humbled by getting canned by one of the largest networks, along with all the public exposure of his financial and moral failures. Yet it seems Hansen has doubled-down more than ever and still to this day tries to maintain the image of success he once had. Even when he is shown to be a proven liar and confronted with his falsehoods, he still will lie through his teeth to appear morally superior.
Pathological lying and delusions of grandeur we know are traits of a narcissist. Having grown up with a narcissistic father myself, I see a lot of the same behaviors in Hansen. Pathological lying. Taking advantage of others for their own self-interests. Constantly taking credit for the success of others. Craving fame and notoriety. A bloated sense of self-importance. Never admitting wrongdoing, even when there is undeniable evidence that proves otherwise. Constantly making everything about themselves (“I just gotta tell ya one thing, I’m Chris Hansen...” “You’ve seen MY show before?”)
Does anyone else agree? It would make sense given all his recent behaviors and the way he has addressed all the recent controversy toward himself.
