Did the diabeetus get him in the end?
I remember the stupid things, the mood rings, the bracelets and the beads Nickels and dimes, yours and mine, did you cash in all your dreams You don't dream for me, no, you don't dream for me, no But I still feel you pulse like sonar from the days in the waves That girl is like a sunburn I would like to say That the girl is like a sunburn

This is amazingly sad. This guy was a lot of things other than the "Cocoon" coot. He was in "The Thing", he was a Marine and he is also part of Star Wars canon. I got the honour of actually meeting him once. Of all the celebrities I've met or shook hands with in my life, him and R. Lee Ermey were the best. Very honest and down to earth men. I think I'm destined to be a grumpy ass old man some day.

Shame. Good actor. He was Dr. Blair in The Thing. That whole movie is amazing, but one of the best scenes in my opinion wasn't even an action scene or sci-fi scene. It was the scene where they have Dr. Blair isolated in the shed, and they open the little hatch to check in on him, and he is sitting there with a noose behind him. His mannerisms and dialogue in that scene alone prove that a great actor can take even minor things and make them memorable.
